Read on! Essays by Drew Lichtenberg

Recently, a number of classrooms in Florida made the decision to only share certain parts of Shakespeare's plays. Drew Lichtenberg reflects on this decision, addressing how and why Shakespeare's plays are indeed salacious in his essay "Cancel Shakespeare".

The original essay received an outpouring of response in the form of more than 800 comments posted on the article, a flood of notes written directly to the author and 750 responses submitted to the question "Which lines from Shakespeare get your blood boiling"

You can read Drew's commentary on reader submissions in his follow up essay "Shakespeare’s ‘Sublimely, Disturbingly Smutty Effect’ Must Endure".
